Meet our New Spokes Person...

We are very pleased to announce our new Spokes Person for 2008:
Meet Julia - a motivated and influential university student whose goal is to end MS one WALK at a time.  Julia was first diagnosed with MS in March 2003.  Since then she has had to undergo some changes in her life including giving up dancing, which she has done since aged 5, and periodically reducing her course load at school.  However, that has not changed her outlook on life.  “I feel that being a young adult with MS gives me the power to be an advocate for MS” says Julia.     Julia photo
Julia has done that and more.  For the last four years she WALKed in the Super Cities WALK for MS in Edmonton. In 2007 her team, Team Julia, raised over $27,000!  She has family and friends from all over Alberta who come to WALK with her on the event date.  “It can almost be overwhelming to see their love and support, they support me 100%,” says Julia.
All her team members wore t-shirts designed by her sister Jenna, and they all worked together as a team to come up with fundraising ideas.  Their most successful fundraising event this year was a silent auction held at Century Grill that raised $14,785!
“As I see it, we are going to be the generation to turn MS around and kick it where it hurts!”
