Asked Questions |
How
long is the route? 5, 10 and 15 kilometres
Where
is the start? Red Deer: Kiwanis Picnic Shelter, Great Chief Park
What
time is start? 8 a.m. is registration and breakfast, 9:00 am walk begins.
How
long will it take? 5 km - 1 to 1.5 hr; 10 km - 1.5 to 2 hours; 15km - 2 to 3 hours
Is
there a registration fee? Is there a minimum amount needed? No. We ask you to raise a minimum of $125.
Can
I start before 9 am? We do not recommend it. Safety personnel will not be in place yet and
the checkpoints will not be open. Make sure you bring plenty of water.
Should
I register my children? Yes, please register everyone for safety reasons.
Should I take my car? Please consider car pooling, parking is very limited.
How
do I check in at the Walk? If you've already submitted your pledge money, or plan on submitting
it the week after the walk, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LINE UP! Just remember
to pick up your pinnie. Then have breakfast and start walking! If you
DO have money to submit, or you haven't claimed your t-shirt yet, you
will have to line up.
How
should I dress? Dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared for anything.
Sunscreen is recommended. We walk rain or shine!
Can
I bring my rollerblades or my bike? It's best if you don't. With the number of people at the Walk, it gets
too congested.
Can
I bring my pledge money to the WALK? We will be accepting money at the Walk, but we recommend bringing it
in early to avoid line ups.
Can
I pick up my t-shirt at the WALK? Yes, however, we often run out of certain sizes. Secure your size by
coming in early.
